….to your Pet Friendly Holiday House “COOLUM OCEAN VIEWS”
23 Scrub Road was built in 1980 and purchased by us in July 1995. One of the first homes built on this hill in its hay day, boasting views to Noosa along the sandy beaches.
This grand lady has had several internal design changes to keep in line with modern trends and provided with personal touches.
We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!
The dramatic view changed following the delayed and controversial construction pre 1990 of the high Club Coolum Resort that has obstructed what was previously uninterrupted beach views to Noosa. Oh well that was progress……never to be repeated as council town planning implemented height restrictions to ensure this type of construction could never happen again in this area.
The ocean view from the house is expansive. Around 40,000 Humpback whales pass by during the migratory season July to October and each year can be seen from the front verandah.
“Migaloo” the famous white whale first discovered off Byron Bay 1991 has played hide and seek since. He was seen passing by the Sunshine Coast but been in hiding now for the past 2 years. Migaloo has his own website and twitter account with 10,000 followers.
At the bottom of Scrub Rd there is a viewing platform overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the cliff edge called Point Perry, which connects to the Coolum Surfclub via a boardwalk. If your stay coincides with a full moon, head down to Point Perry and join the pack of locals during a spectacular moon rise.
Hope this guest information book provides local insight to help enjoy your holiday.
